The Wolftrap Syrah Mourvedre Viognier

Terroir

The come from Malmesbury in the Swartland.

Vinification

The Syrah provides spiciness and flavour to the blend while the Mourvèdre contributes structure. For its part, the Viognier enhances the aromatic profile. The wine is matured in French oak barrels before bottling.

Features

Deep red-violet. The outgoing nose offers up scents of smoke and blueberry jam, which are joined by candied plum and licorice notes. Appealingly fresh, this red wine has plump tannins and a rich texture that linger through a nicely sustained finish.

Food Pairings

Perfect as an aperitif or with shrimp hors d’oeuvres, citrusy cedar-planked salmon or grilled pork tenderloin with mango sauce.
