Terroir Vaglio Temple is produced from 100% hand harvested Malbec from an old vine vineyard in Anchoris, located in the Luján de Cuyo region.
-
Vinification and maturation Made in a fresher style, the grapes are fermented in cement tanks which allow for continuous and even fermentation. A portion of the wine (40 %) spends 11 months in new French oak barrels to enhance the depth of flavour. Enjoyable now, but this beauty can be easily tucked away for up to five years.
-
Features Color: dark inky purple. The colour is deep with bright blackberry hued edges.
Nose: dark, brooding berry aromas lure you in. Warmed berry compote of blackberries, blueberries and black currant are enticing with hints of baking spices, vanilla and dark chocolate rounding out the nose. Fresh aromas elude to the youthfulness of the wine.
Mouth: rich and opulent with dark fruits. Blackberries, ripe raspberries with hints of cherry cola are playfully forward. Baking spices and coriander hit the mid-palate with added complexity. Silky tannins are kept fresh by a medium acidity. The long, pleasant finish gives dark chocolate with a vanilla undertone. The high quality of the winemaking shouldn't be underestimated due to the ease and approachability of the wine. This wine hits all the markers of greatness. -
Food Pairings A playful pairing is pulled pork (or jackfruit) with a sweet and spicy BBQ sauce. Something more serious? Try a roasted duck breast with a black currant reduction.
