Terroir This wine is born in Emilia-Romagna, on the hills of Castel San Pietro Terme, located 250 to 450 metres above sea level. The 130-hectare vineyards are protected by the striking Calanchi Azzurri (badlands) and enjoy an ideal micro-climate with a wide temperature range, constant wind and a lot of sun.

Vinification and maturation The wine is made under temperature-controlled conditions that allow a long and constant maceration of the marc. Maturation takes place in 30-hectolitre oak barrels for six months, followed by another 12 months in five-hectolitre Allier tonneaux and several months in the bottle.

Features Clear ruby red with garnet highlights. Very complex nose with persistent aromas of ripe fruit, spice and light oak. A wine with good balance, structure and body.
