  • Vinification and maturation
Harvesting is done on the 3rd week of September. Fermentation in stainless steel vats under controlled temperature. Maceration for 16 days. Aging: 22 months in French oak barrels.
  • Features
Robe deep cherry red with violet glimmers. Ample legs, dense and coloured. Nose: nice intensity with a great complexity and elegant aromas. Reveals hints of incense as well as mineral scents and red and black berries. Added are subtle notes of French oak such as vanilla, cedar, mild tobacco and spices. The palate: a soft and voluptuous attack revealing delicate, delicious and nicely structured tannins. The freshness of the Graciano grapes gives a nice balance allowing a long and pleasant finish. Wonderful long spicy notes, fruity and slightly woody.
  • Food Pairings
Slightly cured cheeses. Simmered red meat, lamb, roasted games. Pork stew or pork and black beans.
  • Medals / Press reviews
4.5 stars - Restaurant Wine 10/01/2013 “Concentrated and full bodied, this is an unusually rich Rioja that is only now (after 6 years) beginning to mature. It has excellent fruit and depth, and a firm, long, lightly tannic finish, tasting of tobacco, berry jam, black licorice, toast, raspberry, and spicy oak. Excellent.”
