Graciano is relatively scarce in the Rioja region, normally only used in blends with Tempranillo as it is ideal for ageing due to its acidity. It is an interesting variety which needs limestone soil and which gives a unique aroma, much more intense than other varieties in Rioja. During alcoholic fermentation great colour extraction takes places. The wine is then aged in new French oak barrels for 6 months. This wine was bottled in January 2014 and continues ageing in bottle for a minumum of 4 months before being released to the market.
Beronia Graciano shows an intense cherry colour with violet tones. Complex on the nose with intense fruit aromas. The touches of pepper and clove from the French oak mix perfectly with the floral violet tones of the grape variety and the mint and chocolate. This wine offers balanced acidity on the mouth with red fruits, cocoa and mineral touches standing out. A particularly elegant, fresh and well structured wine with sweet and round tannins.
The structure of this wine makes it perfect for oily fish dishes, smoked meats and cheeses.
