Pago del Vicario

The estate is situated at 600 metres above sea level and has a total of 130 hectares of vineyards, predominantly Tempranillo, the Spanish grape par excellence. Pago del Vicario also has Garnacha, Graciano, Merlot, Syrah, Cabernet Sauvignon and Petit Verdot for red wines; Verdejo, Sauvignon Blanc and Chardonnay for white wines.

The Pago Vicario winery is situated 9 kilometres from the centre of Ciudad Real in an area flanked by the Guadiana River in the foothills of the Montes de Toledo. All of our grapes, which are grown in vineyards surrounding the winery, are dedicated to making our own wines in accordance with the pago philosophy from which this project grew in 2000.

All the wines are the result of cool temperature harvesting, from around 4 o´clock in the morning, with grapes selected at their optimum maturity.

The harvest and the later elaboration are made separately variety by variety according to the wine into which they will be made. The barrel hall has different types of oak: predominantly French but also including American and Eastern European oak.
