Finca Antigua, whose name refers to the many old vineyards planted when the estate was bought, is an extension of 1,000 hectares with an altitude over 900 meters, of which only 421 are vineyards; the rest is shrub land with holm oaks. To reconvert the estate was technically difficult in classifying everything, and identifying plots which ultimately ended with the planting of new varieties with a larger potential of adapting to the soil as well as keeping the ones which were able to recover from the scars of erosion.
Familia Martínez Bujanda acquired Finca Antigua at the beginning of 1999 and opened the new winery in 2003. Finca Antigua gathers the best of the old and new worlds, with a surprising collection of wines which are creative, innovative and that express the personality of the land where they are grown.
Situated between the provinces of Cuenca and Toledo, Finca Antigua is the Familia Martínez Bujanda D.O. La Mancha winery, the perfect platform to provide free rein to imagination and creativity. Finca Antigua elaborate innovative, avant-garde and surprising wines that express the personality of a terroir, different from the rest of the wine region.
