Since 1997, Château Maris follows organic and biodynamic principles. His co-owner, Robert Eden, is strongly committed to sustainable agriculture.
He is a reference for organic and biodynamic wine making and gives very often lectures about how to reduce negative impact on the environment in the wine industry.
The wine cellar is built out of hemp bricks which allows the building to passively consume CO2. Self-sustaining, it requires no cooling or heating systems and is the first of its kind in the world.
