“The Noble House of Bayle”, the first name of Château Guiraud was in the possession of Mons de Saint Poly family. On February 22, 1766 Pierre Guiraud, a Protestant merchant from Bordeaux, bought it for the sum of 53,000 pounds. In 80 years and three generations Guiraud became a great vintage of prestige consecrated in 1855 as 1st cru during the imperial classification. On July 20, 2006, Guiraud was taken over by four personalities, one industrialist, Robert Peugeot, and three winemakers, Olivier Bernard, Stephan Von Neipperg and Xavier Planty.
